1. Dancing On My Own - Robyn
There is no second guessing when it comes to Dancing On My Own as Single of the year. MTV calls it "The Hit that somehow wasn't. Robyn is topping end of the year Album charts, single chart, and video charts. She made appearances on Gossip Girl, The VMA's, Letterman, and Vevo. It is unbelievable how America is still somewhat ignorant of her craft. Dancing On My Own kicked of Robyn's Body Talk Collection right. That massive beat, Anthmic chorus, and powerful video; DOMO was My "Hot One" in July and now my hottest single of the year..

My Top 25 Music Videos of 2010

Top 25 Videos of 2010
Estelle Kardinal Offishall Freak
There a probably a lot of good underground videos i haven't seen but this is what I like. 25 is a good number opposed to the shit they put out these days...
25. Alexis Jordan –Happiness
24. Usher – OMG
23. Ciara – Ride

Simplicity is better. There’s not much going on in this video, but Ciara’s dance performance and brothel- like attire prove to be what going on.
22. Alesha Dixon – Drummer Boy
21. Rihanna – Rude Boy
20. Sade – Soldier of Love
19. Benny Benassi - Spaceship
18. Estelle - Freak
17. Vampire Weekend – Giving Up The Gun
16. Nicki Minaj - Your Love
Nicki’s massive attack may have been a massive flop, but the singer surely recovered herself in this revamped edition of “Your Love.”
15. Major Lazer – Keep It Going Louder
Who doesn’t love a colorful video with playful distorted images
14. Lolene – Sexy People
Lolene welcomes us to her Electric Hotel
13. Willow Smith – Whip My Hair
Wow Willow. She came out swinging ……………paint of everybody
12. Kid Cudi – Pursuit of Happiness
11. Janelle Monae – Tight Rope
10. The XX – Islands
I feel like im watching the same thing over and over go up in flames
9. Goldfrapp – Rocket
There would be a couple of people tied on to my rocket
8. Mgmt – Flash Delirium
7. Robyn – Dancing On My Own
6. She and Him – In the Sun
What will it take for me to get in to this school

3. Florence and The Machine – Dog Days Are Over 2010
2. Yeasayer – O. N. E.
1. Lady Gaga – Telephone
I don’t know why people are trying to act like this video wasn’t their best of the year. What is better than Thelma and Louise breaking out of jail, engaging in lesbian kissing, committing massive homicide on unlikely townspeople, and dancing over their dead bodies? Every product placement, every curse word, and every smoking cigarette is classic. Gaga did good.

Best Albums of 2010

Coming in at number 10 is Man on the Moon 2: Mr. RagerKid Cudi - Man on the Moon II album artwork
Kid Cudi has proved on this record that he isn’t any old Hip Hop Artist. I must admit when he first came out, I wasn’t really feeling the whole poker face cover. Ew. But on this Album he’s really come into his own. The lead track “ Erase Me” is a fun loving drunk party record about Cudi being a rejected lover. I have no clue what Kanye is talking about on the record but I like it. The song actually reminds me of something Weezer would do but Cudi style. However, the rest of the album doesn’t follow “Erase Me” listeners will experience heavy Hiphop Cudi, Science fiction Cudi, and Drunk, high, whatever Cudi. All these Cudis cohere into one distinct album Mr.Rager.
9. Christina’s BIONICChristina Aguilera Bionic
Ok so I know this album has got a lot of smack especially from sales, but Bionic is primarily a good album. “Not Myself Tonight” may not have been a strong first single and the Gaga act may not have worked. But songs like “Elastic Love”, “Glam”, and “Vanity” prove to be definite Xtina hits. Only if she backed this album and created her own futuristic style, this era may have worked for her. The title track Bionic produced by switch was like the top song on my itunes. Xtina could have done some damage. But all well that ends bad. Bionic is not a flawless album it has some duds like “Woohoo” and “Desnudate” but the good ones definitely outshine the rest. I wish she kept pushing.
8. Kelis Flesh ToneKelis - Flesh Tone
Kelis should have called this record Brave (one of the tracks of the record). Coming far from “I hate you so much right now” and her powers of persuasion on “milkshake”, Kelis has proven to be as bendable and eclectic as the best. Flesh Tone is like the gay club holy grail. Kelis fully embraces the dance culture on this album, even featuring segues that blissfully transition over to the next songs. Who does that these days???? Aside from her boring videos and low sales, the music speaks for itself. Flesh Tone is clearly this year’s best dance album with its only flaw being that it is too short.
7. Soldier Of LoveSade, Soldier of Love
Every ten years we get one artist who can blend all sounds and make it sound good. Every ten years we get a new Sade album. Soldier of Love came real early this year and definitely kicked the year off right. Sade shows that they still know what it takes to sell a million and be relevant after ten years. Lead single “Soldier of Love” a fun soulful borderline dance track that was clearly bold and had immense crossover appeal. I was generally hoping the rest of the album would sound the same, but I was fortunately mislead. Sade delivers an album that is particularly stronger than its first single. The tracks on the album clashed many genres and they flowed together flawlessly through the end of the CD. Now, the only problem is that we have to wait another ten years of a new record
6. Return of The AnkhErykah Badu-New Amerykah Part 2 Return Of The Ankh
Ms. Badu didn’t have to strip off her clothes to sell a record because the music bares all itself. Return of The Anhk is a strong effort from Badu as it taps back into those “On and On” days and carelessly boasts in new tunes like “ You loving me” The thing I strongly love about this album is the flow. Anhk does not sound like a collection of wannabe radio hits. It mostly sound like a progressive soul session that get better as you listen. It is seriously what R&B and Soul have been missing. This is not an album to be picked and pulled. All of the songs work together and sing together. One can’t help but listen from beginning to end every single time.
5. Teen DreamTeen Dream
Since discovering this band on a college rock station, I have been hopelessly obsessed. Beach House’s latest album Teen dream is pleasurable surf board music. At first the sound seems to be something of the beach boys but it is definitely deeply emotional and heavier than those records. Songs such as “Norway” and “Real love” carry that addicting relaxed emotion throughout the album. I recently heard an acoustic rendition of the song “used to be” and was immediately floored. Teen Dream is the soundtrack to my life.
4. Kanye’s Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy7306b_kanye-west-my-beautiful-dark-twisted-fantasy-official-album-cover-explicit-edition
Kanye is back with a new album. At first I could care less, but then when I saw that Amazon was selling the record for 3.99, I jumped on that faster the a bowl of roasted chicken flavored ramen. Downloading the album was probably one of the worst things I’ve could’ve done. I should have went out and bought the physical copy. Dark Fantasy is a surprisingly great album. It’s far from 808 and definitely darker, but the construction on the record is flawless. The album seems like an apocalyptic event that marks the end or a new beginning for the controversial rapper. Kanye features everyone and every instrument on the record; he even features Elton John. Dark fantasy digs deep in the soul and pulls out a liking for Hip Hop again. This is clearly Kanye’s best work as well as the best hip hop record of the year.
3. Odd BloodYeasayer - Odd Blood
I have an undeniable weakness for music that clashes every genre together and pulls something out extraordinary of it. Yeasayer’s Odd Blood proves that music is more than just lyrics and a beat. It is a creative art form. When I discovered this band earlier this year, I was amazed and thrilled by the multicultural sound. The imagination of Odd blood is powerful, experimental, and electrifying. Tracks like “Love Me Girl” starts off as a dungeon- like dance instrumental then transforms into a 80’s/90’s-esqe edgy club pop song; vocals and all. I was mainly impressed the cultural elements of lead singles “Ambling Alp” and “O.N.E.” Those songs as well as the rest of the record balance sounds of bubbly pop, tribal percussions, big band composition, and hell of a lot more. These songs play as anthemic, colorful, imaginary, and tasteful. It’s good to know that there is still music with a bundle of substance.

2. Body Talk***Body Talk*** OUT NOW
For six whole months I have been praising the work of the Body Talk collection. So it is only natural for this collection to be on the latter part of this list. Body Talk is Robyn’s first “Albums” in five years; featuring Body Talk Pt.1, Pt.2, and the downloadable Pt.3. I’ve have become very upset with the dancehall queen singer, when she announced that Body Talk Pt. 3 was to feature previous songs of the collection and five new ones. There was much anticipation for part three however, the compilation disc does make it easier to place on Album of the year charts. Featuring “the best of” and “the newbies”, body talk seems to be overwhelming and not cohesive. But for new listeners, this record may sound like smash after smash after smash. I had to put myself back when I first heard these records and think of how amazed I was. Body Talk Pt.1 & 2 surely delivered making Pt. 3 sound like the greatest of the greatest. I only wish I haven’t experienced these songs back in June and September; because I love to be a new listener taking it in all at once.

1. Janelle Monae’s The ArchandroidJanelle Monae-The Archandroid
Have you ever listened to an album that was so good; it makes you think it should’ve been turned into a movie? Well I’ve only experienced that five times and four of those times come from the 80’s. The fifth however, comes from a little known artist that goes by the name of Janelle Monae. The Archandroid: suites II and III is the psychological journey of an Android named Cyndi Mayweather, who was sent back in time to free citizens of Metropolis from the Great Divide. The Great Divide is a secret society that uses time travel to suppress freedom and love. And is up to Cyndi Mayweather , as the Archandroid, to free these people from this miserable time. A very interesting story huh? The music of Archandroid speaks for itself. Monae’s voice is very captivating on the record as she expresses her different vocal ranges on songs like “57821” & “Come Alive.” The lead single “Tight Rope” is a funky dance record about doing that tight rope through all of the highs and lows of life. The music composition on the song is so amazing that it overshadows the actual “tight rope dance” :; unless Monae does it. Archandroid’s sound takes from many different eras in music. “Babopbye Ya”( 8 minutes of greatness!! She even raps in it too) sounds of a 60’s jazz era while “Sir Greendown” resembles a 70’s smooth ballad. The power of the smooth bionic70’s fantasy “Say You’ll Go” sends chills down my spine every listen; especially during the magical closing of the song (It’s great). It is clear that Monae took the best from those time periods and amplified them as part of her own unique style. The Album also flows together. I love how “Dance or Die”, “Faster”, and “Locked Inside” fall into one another. It’s like a nonstop dance session. The Archandroid delivers a fantastically theatrical collection of music. Probably the most theatrical since Micheal Jackson’s Bad ( One of the five). This is only Monae debut full length album; so there’s definitely way more to come. And when that brilliant director decides to turn this brilliant work into a film, I will be first in line.

Best of The Beat 2010

As 2010 winds down, people will go through trouble trying to fill their stockings with presents. Others fiercely plan for intense new years eve celebrations. and the weird odd looking music lovers count down their favorites of the year.
therefore, I want to share what I think is the best of the beat in 2010.
2010 was filled with the electronic take over. items such as facebook and twitter have become more popular then they have ever been. Most of the popular songs sampled techno or house music not really letting listeners experience the full artistic form of the genre. And this year, one of the most beloved and boring genres officailly died. R & B. If it is not attached to hip hop, pop, or any other genre it can not succeed. When was the last time we've seen an R&B crooner hit the top Ten by themselves. R&B is getting to the point of having absolutely no identity!! Which is pretty sad because I basically grew up on the genre. However, in recent days it has yet to woe me.......................................... wait! ..maybe?????????????????? NO.... it's just dead.
I must add, 2010 was the year of none other than GAGA. Has anyone noticed how Gaga is having the effect on everything from music to fashion to facebook to pop culture. She is taking over. Celebs like Willow, Fergie, and Nicki Minaj have all jumped on the same crazy creative band wangon as the Bad Romance singer. She has literally taken over. Even though I love Gaga and I love her music, I must admit she would be nothing without the likes of Madonna and Grace with them seriously being to first of the first, respectively.
Speaking of, this year has forced me to officailly drop the mainstream and go Alternative and Old school. I have recently re-fell in love with Madonna's Erotica Album and soaked in Madonna's 1989- 1996 Era.....Strike a pose..... I have also discovered and totally dove into Queen songs & Freddie Mercury. I am so upset that its taken me this long to find out about this awesome band. And I have never blasted 80's/ 90's music so much. Janet's "Throb" is at the top of my itunes playlist. It's ridiculous, it's like i've stepped into a time machine and went twenty years back. I find myself dressing like these icons.....hair bands and everything. Im reciting lines from their songs into my facebook posts......."don't you want me bay bay, don't you want me OoooH oh Oh!." I even get excited when they're on T.V. "OMFG straight up!!!! I lOve THis SONG!"
2010 has been lacking the luster and has proven that the 80's and 90's era was better. just listen to the new Black eyed peas single ....... prime example....very creative -_-
But some how I have been able to find the likes of Monae, Kanye, and a couple of relivant artist across the pond to successfully create The Best of the Beat in 2010. so hopefully you think so too.

let the countdowns begin :-)

Lonely Lost Lover of a Lionheart

2011. rugged footsteps on waves of air
taking two steps back, leaning forward
ignorance never felt so right
ice cold memoirs with the enraged scrapping of the heart
buttermilk dreams reassembled false works of art
inferiority never felt so real
needing you to love me
monstrosity and blasphomy surrounding and clinching tightly
pierce my flesh and tear my skin
love me
or hate me so that you love me
and know never to be tamed
because lonely lost lionhearts never forget what they're named

Bulletproof Monster !!!!!! ARRGHHH!

NEW YORK - JUNE 09: Vocalist Elly Jackson of La Roux performs on ABC's 'Good Morning America' at ABC Studios on June 9, 2010 in New York City. (Photo by Michael Loccisano/Getty Images)

Nicki verse in Monster is soo badd, its like kanye Who?
Kanye's latest leak 'Monster' hit the web a month ago
and by far I'd say Nickster's got this one.
The record drags as Kanye and JZ try to carry the song
But Nicki's verse amps up the record and makes her the most memorable.
So memorable that DJ Colin Munroe decided smash the record with
La Roux's 'Bulletproof' to enduce flaming genre crossing artistry that's never been done before. **La Roux @ Good Morning America**
Check out La Roux and Nicki in "Bulletproof Monster"

*** I Remember ***

“I Remember”
I remember when I used to love
So deep through emotion
Past the depths of my soul
I cry through heartbreak laying here all alone
To look in ones eyes and believe love
I remember when I used to love
Being in your relfection
Breathing being in your presents
Satisfaction was fulfilled in my mind
Long walk long talks helped my open my eyes
I remember…
Heartbreak
The day you said I love you
The day you never said
All I have left is your picture in my head
Laying here thinking about you loving
I remember when you used to love me but
You never loved we

Hot One!: Alesha Dixon - Dummer Boy

At first listen the song seems pretty redundant. but after the fourth and fifth listen, i wasn't ablt to put the song down. This record follows Alesha's 2008 album 'The Alesha show' which features the Hit 'Breathe slow' (Strongly Recommend) With it's sexual metaphorical reference and high energy performance drummer boy proves to be this moment's Hot One!

** Phoenix**

Phoenix
The red bird flew across my path she opened my eyes
Ignorance, Pride, Cockiness, Disrespect
Scorned I am
Flames burn deep
As I am Through
This is the final straw
Pleasing everyone’s personalities
Freezing my own for others
Disrespectful
Flames burn deep in my eyes
As I used this flame I burn others
The red bird flew across my path and she opened my eyes
This is the End

This is How I feel right Now

I feel the wind brush between by thighs
The warm air embraces my skin and makes me shine
God bless the Sun for making my soul smile.
Bird symphonies detach my soul from the Idle
Liberal connotations and implications of bliss
The wonder bread of colors shimmer loose to miss
The traffic jams, hypocrisy, atrociousness of the democracy
Smoking Air, high sky, away from things lower than the sea
Releasing negative energy to the Visions of the past
The effects were so enjoyable I during the last breath I laughed
Liberal, Liberated, Li be ra tion
I finally took my last steps and made it to my Des ti nation

Janelle Monae Gives Face on New Video!

Janelle Monae has just released a new emotional clip for her new single 'Cold War.' Last night Monae was claimed as a trending topic on Twitter. However, I'm not sure if was because of this video or the 'So You Think You Can Dance' performance. Either way, Monae delivers on both. Check Out Cold War!

Top Ten Artist You Should Consider getting to Know

People often state that music has not evovled, and in fact it has gotten worse. However, it is safe to say that all is not lost. Aside from what mainstream media wants people to hear, the only way to discover & hear great music is on your own. The internet is an amazing window to all types of sounds and information from music ARTIST. ( Not people who sing anything because their label says so.Tune in to the radio for that)
Unfortunately, these talented Artist are only restricted to the internet due to not fitting into MTV or the radio's status quo. WEEK in Music

I definitely had a boring ass final week of July. so to keep from claiming insanity, I found some things to get excited about in music

  • Kelly Rowland has begun shooting Rose Colored Glasses (According to Her Twitter). As much as I think 'RCG' is Bland and better yet vapid, It still nice 2 see another Kelly Vid coming our way. Hopefully she took some tips from Gaga's videos

  • Speaking of Gaga, She has decided to release 'Dance in the Dark' as New single. - Btw that is my favourite Fame Monster record

  • Solange teams up with Of Montreal on 'Sex Karma'. The two can be see performing it on Jimmy Fallon

  • Check out Nina Sky's You ain't Got it (Funk That)

  • The Script has a new single for the UK called ' For the First Time' out sept 5.

  • Ciara thinks she looks like Janet

  • I actually Like Xtina's You Lost Me ....... and that record doesn't Santigold written all over it (unlike Bionic)

Who is The Queen of the Summer?

The summer of 2010 has seen some amazing artists do some amazing things with music. And like every summer, they all compete for the title of the song of the season. From Kelis to Gaga and Perry to Robyn, this summer seemed to be ran by ladies whos amazing songs all charted at the number one spot. So it is obvious for me to ask who is the Queen of the summer?

Robyn's Dancing On MY Own - The first single off Robyn's number one charting Body Talk series. The dance pop single has charted in various places across the globe. The record was claimed as a Hot One! and still is. Dancing On My Own is currently climbing U.S. Dance Club Play. Is the emotional dance record master of the summer beats?

Kelly Rowland's Commander - Kelly Rowland has made a lot of buzz over the past year. After firing her manager and being dropped from her label, Kelly Rowland rose up like a champ with her number one single 'When Love Takes Over' and her latest global hit 'Commander.' The Guetta produced dance track 'Commander' has been making waves all over the globe. With the release of the steamy video and fierce promo pics, is kelly Queen of the Summer?

Katy Perry's California Gurls - .... no pun intended. ...... Hell the girl was like number one for three weeks. It's obvious that the record is not my favorite. But she is a shoe in for this catogory

Nicki Minaj's Your Love - truely follows the story of Cinderella. Once a upon a time in a far place called the mixtape world. A song emerged entitled 'Your Love.' The record was so good that a geisha named Minaj re-recorded the track and created a hot eccentic video. After the record shot straight to number one. Nicki reigns as top rapper of the summer. But does that make her queen of the summer.

Kelis' 4th Of July - Flesh Tone "flopped" everybody knows but its truely no big deal when the music is good. 4th of July is a dance club blast of fun and truely a work of art. The pulsating beat and the free high flying feel of the record seriously makes me wanna blast record in a convertable somewhere. Hopefully America will catch on because Flesh Tone is the future of popular music.

Lady Gaga's Alejandro - Ok so the video was dark and totally gay but, that definatly made me like the song so much more. As a fan of the november leaked version of Alejandro, I've seen the song transform itself getting better and better each time. Maybe it's possible that this song, for me, is the song of the year literally.

So who's got it? This is definitely not a popularity contest, remember it's all about the music. so if you haven't heard it, Check it out!

Hot One!: Yuksek - Extraball ft. Amanda Blank

Yuksek is a very cute DJ from france that has remixed a number of songs including Lady Gaga's Paparazzi and Phoenix's Lizstomania. He recently included his steamy mixing skills on his latest project 'Away from the Sea.' 'Away From the Sea' features a song entitled 'Extraball' which features Alternative rhymer Amanda Blank. The record was released in April of 2009. I know the record is kind of old but the funky dance and futuristic elements of the edgy song was too hard to pass up. Amanda Blank's hyper rhymes and Yuksek's cool boy swag make "Extraball" clearly this moment's Hot One!

see what i mean by cool boy swag

Is the Apocalypse near?

Well I was listening to the lyrics to Jay Sean's new record 2012. Where he talks of partying like it's the end of the world. And, I just saw that movie 2012. They talk about the possible events leading to the end. and all of those redundant History specials about the end being near in 2012.
Well summers are getting hotter, people are getting crazier, and everything seems to be redone.
maybe it is near. i'd better get a head start on that Bucket list.

What do you think is 2012 really the end?

Robyn: 'Hang With Me' to be Body Talk 2's First single

So Body talk part one offered the record 'Hang With Me' which was a powerful ballad that, in my opinion, was definitely single worthy. But, when i heard that Robyn was only releasing one single from BT.1, I figured the record was at loss.
However according to Robyn's official website, 'Hang With Me' will become an official single with a new life.
The record 'Hang with Me' is featured as Robyn's first single off Body Talk Pt.2. The soulful ballad was transformed in to a heavy bassed dance pop track with more harmonies and ad libs that bring the record to the next level. It serves as a decent follow up to 'Dancing On my Own' and has Hit written all over it.
Hopefully this time America will get over their loving cant sing K$sha phase.
It is rumored that the single will be released a couple of days before Bt.2's release which is September 6th. So until then, I'll be listening to the radio leak.

Check out Robyn on Letterman!

Hot One: Benni Benassi - Spaceship

Benni Benassi, Kelis,Jean Baptiste And Apl. from the Black Eyed Peas team up for this mega smash dance hit that is taking over my ipod earwaves. Benassi is an italian DJ and a Grammy Award winner who is best known for his 2002 hit "Satisfaction". And now he has teamed up with some hot performers to introduce his hot new record. Spaceship is definately a record for the club but, the direction music is going these days you just might hear it on the airwaves. Benassi's Pulsating beats, Apl.'s flow, and Kelis' vocal charisma clearly make this track the moment's Hot One.

For The Record: Solange Knowles

She may be the little sister of R&B Goddess Beyonce Knowles, But Solange has a little ray of light on her own. Solange and The Hadley St. Dreams is one of the best Albums of 2008 and mostly the past decade. On the album Solange explores her R&B roots then fuses them with a hint of today's music styles. That simple method totally made her album timeless. Although the album may have been released two years ago, Solange's Hadley st. Dream record is still getting spins on my Ipod. For the record Solange is fresh a breath of air from all the mainstream mess they call today's music.
Check out the second single from her hot summer fun record which is a summer favorite!

Are we too Old for our Old Lives?

It is very natural that when one returns to their hometown, their hometown roles set in tact. The ring leader, the push over, the follower, the one that says what ever the hell is on their mind, and the ring leader. As you may notice the ring leader is listed twice. Probably because there are two competing for the spot or someone carries two of the roles listed above. In highschool everone had their cliques and it is amazing how long cliques last. Now that we are out of highschool and on to better things, shouldn't Highschool cliques be put to rest?

As much as I hate to admit, in highschool I was invovled with an incoherent clique that imposed total opposites of how I lived. I knew we didn't mesh well as a matter of fact, I really didn't mesh well with any of the cliques of my high school past. The only thing this clique and I had in common was the fact that we shared the same after school activity. That was mostly it. We didn't hang at each other houses, weren't in separable during the school day, and were not reliable to one another. As much as I wanted to consider myself as a rolling stone, I was ass up in love with this clique while they kept pulling the rug from under me.
As of July 3, 2010 I returned home from my college to visit family expecting more from the clear expected. I recieved a text from a friend in my ex clique,The push over, she wanted me to meet her and the girls at a little social get together in our town. Excited to be reunited, I immediately agree to come along. I stumbled through searching for the appropriate clothing. Then I was desperately looking for the right shoes to go with the outfit. And finally I rapidly straightened my curls with my fourteen dollar flat iron.I simply wanted to look my best since it was the first appearance I've made in the town since graduation.
Looking sharp and dedicated to my style, I pulled off and began looking for my clique at the social get together. After finally flipping the place upside down, I found them. The Push over, The one that speaks her mind no matter what, and the ring leader. So what did that make me? No I did not get a standing ovation or 'Oh my godd it's Gabriel in the flesh!', I only got a stare and a smile. As if Ive been in town and their lives the whole time. As if my being here was a waste of time. The push over acted as if she didn't invite me. The one who spoke their mind acted as if she didn't want me their, and the ring leader acted as if she didn't know me. Same old roles?
After a quick remeet and greet, we stood there as lifeless, hopeless, an as incoherent as ever. Nothing to talk about, except this time I was the odd man out.I couldn't believe that after all of this time, they had nothing to ask me. I moved away, finished two semesters of college, and witnessed a death in the past year. And still no questions. I kept wondering why I was the only one who was asking all the questions as if I was the one who was doing the inviting. As I stood there, I began to count the many curls I still had left in my hair from the flat iron. At that moment I realized my role in the clique. The clique that I never fit in. Just like the curl on my head laying next to the straight hair, I didn't mesh well. I was the follower. Seeing the girls bond and easily conversate with one another, showed me my state of being in this relationship. The old me would have tried to break in to the conversation to talk, to hang, to be apart. But the new didn't feel like it. I was too old for this clique. The need for concrete compainionship was no need anymore. I was content and set out to remeet the other cliques I followed in highschool. As I wore my follower badge, I recieved the standing ovations, The 'OMG it's Gabe in the flesh.'I conversated with the other cliques. Although it was brief convo, they still asked me how i've been over the year.
After reconnecting, I tried to return back to the girls since they invited me but when i returned they were gone. I dailed the push over's cell to get report on where they went. 'were in the car ready to leave' five mins after my arrival.. 'smooth'
At that moment i was temporarily upgraded to the push over role. I let them make come meet them for them to only leave me in the end. After all this time the clique that i valued the most did not value me back. As I made a couple more rounds, I abondoned my follower badge and began to lead my own path right out of the social event.
And just like that I was the leader of my own clique me, myself, and I
I am too old/////

Kelis a New Era

Everybody knows Milkshake 'La La La La La Ding Warm it up' and Caught Out There 'I hate you so much Right Now AHHHH!'were sexy, strong, breakout songs for the eccentric singer. But now Kelis has a new direction which is opening up a new era in her career. Dance Music! Kelis new album 'Flesh Tone' is a collection of the hottest club records penned by the singer after her greatest hits release.

As 'Acapella' and '4th of July' lead the album, Kelis needs way more recognition for her new eclectic sound. I like the new Kelis. She is not shying away from the music direction she wants to go in unlike other music artist who prefer Dance music just to get a quick hit record. Kelis fully committed herself to the music style and she gets mega Kudos.

FleshTone Will be out tommmorrow as of July 6, 2010.

Kelis is going on tour with Swedish singer Robyn entitled 'The All Hearts Tour.' For tour dates check out Kelis' Site

Lauryn Hill is set to make a Comeback

So I finally just bought Lauryn's first solo album at the record store not realizing that is was on sale for a reason. According to various blogs sites, Lauryn Hill has recorded new material and it expected to release later this year. However, I'm finding it hard to believe she'll be releasing new music this year due to the fact that the year is half over. Lauryn Hill blew up the music industry the last time she was on the scene in 98', so isn't more time needed to put the buzz out there? And why did Lauryn and comp. wait until now to anounce her long awaited comeback?

Any way the emotional ubran stylings of 'The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill' still most definately stand as the Holy Grail of Hip hop. It is going to be interesting to see what Lauryn comes up with on this album which was recorded during a ten year process. Hopefully she will be able to save music from the state it's in right now.
'Hip Hop started out in the heart, now everybody tryna chart!'

Fave Five: Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, Ex Factor, When it Hurts So bad, To Zion, Sweetest Thing

Fresh, New, And Supakool, Alexis Jordan has released a fun exciting dance record entitled 'Happiness'. The former America's Got Talent contestant struck a deal with Sony Music Ent. and released this fun caute vid that was featured in MTV's Fresh Faces of 2010. Kudos to Alexis for going for a cluby dance track rather than typical R&B. This fun eclectic selection effortlessly becomes this moment's Hot One!

H.O.T 4 J.L.S.

JLS's latest record maybe a cliché American pop song but their style is far from domestic. Fresh out of UK's X factor, JLS has been heating up the charts in Uk and plans to take on America next. There new record is just the record to do so. The dance record "The Club is Alive" is acompained by a fun upbeat video and is one of the best dance videos i've seen in a long time. JLS style is simular to the old boy bands from the past but ten times hottter and eleven times cooler. Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan "JB" Gill, Oritsé Williams adorable ways has put them in the Spotlight 4 sure
Lets celebrate with their latest single "The CLub is Alive"

The Diet Commercial

After a long day furiously waiting for my little brother to graduate middle school, I settled down at a restuarante and ordered a meal soo delish that i had to blog about it. The chicken ceaser salad. I don't know if it was the heat or being cornered by an insane and a sane grandmother, but that food was good. I even took a picture of it. It looks and taste better in real life.
With a side of cranberry juice, I was on cloud nine liberated from all the things that were pulling me down. As if cranberry juice was nature's red wine. That's when it hit me. I was eating healthy. While my insane grandmother (who i love btw) was devouring the chicken fingers she didn't want , eating something less greasy a but equally tasty.
like a diet commercial, one good choice lead to another. After the next few days I have been putting do the grease and researching healthy food. Although I have a high metabolism, I had to be sure to stay as healthy as I can . It is interesting to see the results of people getting older and how one decision can lead to many decisions in their life. Are all the decisions we make as important as the life that we live?

Hawthorne Heats Up!

With all new lab coat eye candy and a hellbound ER, Hawthorne seems to not be playing around this season. Christina Hawthorne is back with the gang in a new hospital where the stakes are high. "How long has he been dead?" Christina asks Gail Strummer, who is a head of the crowded trashy pit entitled James River Hospital. Strummer replies with "Since he died"... As James river unfolds, it begins to become evident that Hawthorne will be having some intense moments this season. I'll be watching. Check out the clip for next week's episode!

Hawthorne is On TNT, Tuesdays @ 9pm!

Robyn 'Body Talk's' Various Elements of Pop Music

The previously released eight track LP is Robyn's first album of new material in five years and it was well worth the wait. Body Talk Pt.1 is a fun creative disc on the inside and out. With the Cd itself resembling a demo tape and the first track entitled 'Don;t F***ing Tell Me What Do', Robyn was sure not to share any type of boredom to audiences.

On the record Robyn explores the many different types of Pop Music. She even fuses Pop music with other dancey genres. The track "Dancehall Queen" surely amplifies the fun crossover between robyn style pop music and dancehall records. The record "Cry When You Get Older" is a Heavy synth record where Robyn sings about the complications of love. The record is very edgy and is an instant Robyn classic (Like Be Mine!). "Hold up a second, now i got something on my dirty mind." Robyn sings on the first verse. Robyn slows things down on Body Talk with "Hang With Me (acoustic Version)'. An emotional record that shows the versatility of Robyn's music. Robyn sings accompanied by violins and a piano.

It is simply understood why Robyn couldn't hold on to the tracks any longer. According to the swedish magazine, Bon, Robyn stated that she did not want to wait with a release until they where all recorded and decided to release them as a set. Body Talk Pt.1 is only the opening to what the Body Talk series has in store. Body Talk will see a part two and three later on this year.

Robyn just released her third international album, Body Talk Pt.1, in the U.S. With it's heavy bass, and techno loops, Dancing On My Own serves up as the hottest Dance track for the summer. Robyn doesn't stop there. The video for dancing on my own is a fierce club scene where Robyn takes the floor with iconic stage presents and performs her ass off. Filled with emotion and strength, Dancing on My Own proves to be this moment's Hot One!

'I'm an Alien from Outer Space......'

It's true, I am not the typical jersey kid one would see on the street, especially south jersey xp. I am a very odd yet creative person through fashion, film, music, and writing. I spend most of my time as an overwhelmed college student but on the down side, I am very observant. People on this planet called Earth are very weird creatures. The varied personalities, unsettling disputes, judgemental opinions serve as only some of the far from beautiful qualities in human nature. However, like in every fairy tale, where ever there's ugly; there is beauty. As an observer, I going to expose, the beautiful, the ugly, and everything in between. Because thats just how life is beautiful, ugly, and in between. and always remember people don't change. They are just the same person with the same attitudes in a different world. a world where they must ADJUST and that's as real as it gets................................
